As a Cyber Security Consultant my mission is to ensure that companies are well protected against cyber attacks. I enjoy deep-diving into technical details, but I am convinced that educating users and creating awareness is equally important.
Cyber Security Consultant who is specialized in penetration testing, vulnerability management, incident response, as well as user awareness and training.
I'm a big believer in the importance of certification and continuous education. While I'm always pursuing new certificates, here is an overview of the certificates I already obtained:
As a consultant I always try to fix any problems that clients are facing, but I am specialized in the following domains:
Whatever Security-related problems you are facing, I will help you solve them.
Creating procedures and playbooks on how to prepare for security incidents, and firefighting in case security incidents occur.
Actively reducing the attack surface by patching vulnerabilities in applications and systems and ensuring procedures exist to reduce future vulnerabilities.
Whether you have classic or Cloud-based infrastructure, or if you're moving to the Cloud, it is critical that your infrastructure is set up securely.
If you require a penetration test or vulnerability assessment, or need someone to remediate the identified vulnerabilities.
Providing all sorts of training, such as awareness training to end-users, or more technical security training to IT personnel.
Below you will find a full overview of my professional career and education.
July 2018 - Present
I started my career as a Freelance Security Consultant in July 2018. Since then I have worked on several long-term consultancy assignments in multiple sectors (healthcare, financial, government), as well as provided security training and performed penetration tests and provided Incident Response for multiple clients
November 2016 - June 2018
At EY I worked in the Cyber Security department for Financial Services in EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, Africa). My main activities included creating procedures for vulnerability management and incident response for clients in the financial sector.
April 2016 - November 2016
Upon joining CTG, I was given an intensive 3-week security training, providing an overview of the most important topics in Information Security. My main activities included penetration testing and web application vulnerability assessments at several clients.
September 2014 - April 2016
I started my career at Sogeti as an IT Consultant, where I developed my passion for IT Security after following a training in Ethical Hacking. I worked on a project at a large bank where I performed security testing as part of the software development lifecycle.
2019 - 2020
In 2019 I started an education at Antwerp Management School, that I combined with working full time. The Master Class focused on Digital Transformation, and its goal was to learn methodologies on how to manage digital transformation, and IT in general.
2015 - 2017
In order to further improve my technical skills, I followed a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science in evening classes via Blended learning. Here I learned software development and system engineering, although this education was more focused on IT in general than on IT Security.
2012 - 2014
After my Bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics I chose the most general Master's degree. This education focused on languages and communication from a business perspective. I also followed several courses from the Applied Economics Master's degree to increase my general knowledge.
2009 - 2012
For my Bachelor's degree I studied Applied Linguistics, focusing on Dutch, German and English.
